We believe in new music, and that’s why we usually ask for new works by Catalan composers to be commissioned. One of our most recent commitments has been to the composer Bernat Vivancos, who as a result has produced the work Cançons Nocturnes (Night songs): A collection of songs for orchestra and equal voices based on poems by different catalan authors. The whole work creates a thematic cycle that takes the listener on a journey from dusk to dawn through different aspects of the night. The work was premiered on November 27th 2016 conducted by Edmon Colomer. The interludes for unaccompanied clarinet are used as a link between songs, forming an indivisible unity with the special sound by Vivancos.
