Stabat Mater of Brotons

Salvador Brotons wanted to compose a Stabat Mater that appealed to the public through contrast: with moments of deep dramatic intensity, others of calm and reflection and some passages of great exaltation and speed. It is one of his best works from his youth, which will be performed by the Granollers Chamber Choir and the Young Amics de la Unió Choir, together with the ArsInNova Choir and the Sant Cugat Symphony Orchestra, and which he will conduct himself.

The concert will be completed with fragments of the popular zarzuela Cançó d’amor i de Guerra by Maestro Martínez Valls, an essential work that takes place in the midst of the French Revolution and narrates the story of a love triangle, but which, above all, has the clamor to freedom as a guiding thread.
