‘El Monstre al Laberint’

‘El Monstre al Laberint’ (The Monster in the Maze) is an opera by Jonathan Dove that is inspired by the classic myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. The scenic proposal signed by Paco Azorín establishes a parallel between the journey undertaken by the young people of Athens in the myth with the journey made every day by hundreds of people who throw themselves into the Mediterranean in search of a more dignified life.

The monster in the Maze is conceived as a collective creation in which hundreds of young people from various institutes and educational centers share the stage with professionals in music and the performing arts.

The project aims to offer young people, apart from an artistic experience, an initiatory journey in culture and thought. A participative project that gives us the opportunity to get closer to the opera, either from the audience or up on stage.
